(Nick's P.O.V) It all happened so fast. Nikki and I were happily asleep, then Kevin showed up waking only me....at first. He was sitting at the foot of the bed, a bottle in one hand, and his other hand hidden behind his back. Glad your awake little brother! He slurred. I thought you might wanna see this. Since you hate me so much. Kevin said pulling his hidden hand out from behind his back. I gasped. A gun was positioned in his hand. I slid out of bed cautiously takeing note that I was only wearing pajama pants. I needed to remember to wear a shirt every so often....expecially when my drunken brother is trying to possibly kill me or my wife....I mean fiancee(sp?). I slowly took a step forward. Kevin put the gun down. I said quietly. After what I do it'll have to go down. He said laughing. I was confused, but thats what you get for trying to reason with a drunk guy. I put my hands up so that he knew I wasn't trying anything. But then he did something unexpected. He picked the gun up and put it against his own head. Kevin no! I said. He pulled the trigger. It clicked. Nothing happened. Oh silly me! No bullets!? He asked hiccuping. He took a bullet out of his back pocket and loaded the gun. He then put it up to his head again. I dashed toward him grabbing the gun. He turned to me slowly as I stepped back. I looked to Nikki, she was safely asleep, unharmed. I breathed a sigh of relief. I was glad she hadn't seen this episode. I looked at her, the poster child for beauty. But then I was pummeled to the ground. Kevin tackled me to the floor trying to get the gun. He was laughing for a second but then stopped and wrestled me for the gun. We wrestled for the gun for a little while as it slid between us. We started to kick and punch each other. Kevin grabbed the gun and made sure it was loaded. He was pretty coordinated for a drunk guy. Then he turned to gun to go up to his head. Everything from there was in slow motion. Half way up the gun swung backwards it his finger and it caused just enough force to pull the trigger. I watched as the single bullet shot out. I looked at what was in its path, Nikki. I watched in horror as it pierced her skin at her stomach. I watched as blood started to creep through her shirt. I looked up at her face, she had gone dead white. She looked at me as her hands held her wound. She picked up her hands shakily and looked at them, both of them soaked with blood. She tried to grab the frame of the bed, but that didn't help. She slowly slid down to the floor, her hands now holding her stomach. She hit the ground and everything was quiet and still. I ran to her side and picked her up in my arms. Everything wen t back to normal speed by then. She looked up at me teary eyed then her head fell limply side ways as her eyes slowly slid shut. Tears burned in my eyes. Oopps. Kevin said still drunk. I looked at him hatefully. Then he fell backward straight to sleep. Thats a drunk for ya. I heard ruffleing as Joe and Julia woke to find out what the ruckuss was. I heard TJ crying in the next room. Joe and Julia barged in through the door faces going from confused, to startled, to angry, to shocked, to sad, to anxiety in a matter of seconds. They ran through out the house, Julia calling the ambulance, and Joe getting bandages. He came to my side and started to clean blood off of Nikki. It didn't help. The blood just kept on flowing out. Soon enough we were all pacing the hospital. Joe stayed behind to watch over TJ and Kevin. Julia called Zac and told him to send Steph. She came running into the waiting room minutes later. I was oblivious to the world. My ears ringing from the gunshot, my blood racing from nerves, and my heart breaking hoping she was ok. Soon a doctor came out. Briann. He asked. The three of us stood up. I hadn't realized Steph was rubbing my back to try to comfprt me and Julia was holding my hand. I'm her fiancee. I said. He walked up to us. Sir I'm sorry, but your baby didn't make it. the Doctor said. Baby? The three of us said. I think you have the wrong people. You see Nikki isn't pregnant. She never even had...well.....you know. Steph said. You missed a lot when you were gone. Julia growled through her teeth. I guess she was holding a grudge against Steph. So your saying that Nikki is pregnant? I asked. Was. He said. The bullet hit the egg straight on. It died out. No more cells are growing in it. I'm sorry but you lost the baby. But your wife, or girlfriend, or no fiance is fine. The doctor said. I thanked him. Room number 511. He said. We nodded and all went down to room 511, Julia and Steph keeping their distance. I stopped at the door and turned. Can I-Can we have some privacy first. I'll get you guys in a bit. I said. They bothh nodded and sat down on the chairs across the hall......as far apart as possible. I turned to the door and pushed it open. I slid in and closed the door behind me.Chapter 63 up soon!
