  • My Dev Days 2008 impression

Hi there, I would have liked to talk about this a little bit sooner, but couldn't find the time. Anyways, I had a great time may 22nd at the Dev Days 2008! An exciting day full of new stuff and quality presentations. The first session, or actually keynote, I visited was a presentation by David Platt on 'Why software sucks'. David was verry funny (especially his comment that nobody would like to use a stick anymore in a car ). Anyways, his overall thought was, 'know thy user for he is n

  • Devdays 2008 Amsterdam Report 22 May

Devdays 2008 Amsterdam Report 22 May May 22, 2008 21:22 by geert van der Cruijsen I just came home from Amsterdam after a long day of listening to presentations on the DevDays 2008 in Amsterdam. It was a long day since I live "below the rivers" as people in Holland like to call it and its a pretty long drive to Amsterdam so I had to get up early.   I stepped into my car at 6:00 in the morning to be in Amsterdam at 9:00. In the Netherlands traffic is such a joke that it isn't possible for me

  • Tomorrow: DevDays 2008 - Amsterdam

Tomorrow (May 22) and Friday (May 23) DevDays 2008 is hosted in the RAI, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Two days of technical developer sessions and a Geek Night in between. The DevDays event is an event where you get two days packed with sessions and other presentations the latest news on Microsoft technologies and developments in that area. There will be some great presenters there at your service. How about Ingo Rammer doing his famous debugging sessions, Rafal Lukawiecki who is always capab

  • Dutch DevDays 2008

Next week I will attend the Dutch DevDays 2008 at RAI Amsterdam. And according to their site it will give attendees inspiration through international speakers like Daniel Moth and Ingo Rammer. What I noticed in the program is that there are a lot of international speakers this year, which might be the cause that attending it costs nearly 400 euro’s for two days now. Subjects involve .NET Framework 3.5, Visual Studio, ASP.NET Ajax and Microsoft Office System. No BizTalk unfortunately, it very dev

  • DevDays 2008, what sessions to pick?

Holland's biggest Microsoft event, the Dev Days will be held this year at may 22nd en 23rd 2008. Two days of techniques, news and inspiring showcases that every developer should inspire. This year I get to go one day. So the big question is what day to go? This is the programme of may 22nd: This is the programme of may 23rd: I really would like to see Ingo Rammer and/or Christian Weyer since I follow their blogs about WCF, but then again they are presenting at the same time accord

  • Upcoming Event: DevDays 2008 - Amsterdam

After my previous little European tour visiting Ghent and Lisboa talking about LINQ, Parallel FX Extensions, Windows PowerShell 2.0 and WPF, I'm looking forward to meet the European audience again at DevDays 2008 Amsterdam. I'm especially thrilled about this one since it's my first speaking opportunity at this conference though I've been living in a radius of a few 100 kilometers for the first 24,5 years of my life. The speaker list looks impressive, just a few big names: Rafal Lukaweicki, Dani

The history behind .Net User Groups The first .Net user group ever (as far as I could find out) was started by Ruth Walther in Seattle December 2000. It seams like this group is no longer active and I was unable to find out why. Anyway, today you'll find a user group in almost every major city in any country. And if you don't have a user group where you live, I think it's about time you start one! :-) Seriously, it's not that hard and you'll be a hero where you live! :-)  I can really r
