There are hundreds of wines available on the market today. First time buyers usually don’t have any idea what to pick so they settle for the best packaged wine bottles but end up drinking low quality wines. Here are some tips on how to judge the wine from its appearance, smell, and taste: 1. When choosing a wine, get the one that is clear and free of any floating particles. This is the common complaint against homemade wines. Some wine makers forget to sanitize all their equipment leaving r

  • Amazing, Beautiful, Incomprehensible: A New View of An Ancient Supernova

I have mentioned before that I love astronomical photography, and I think that scientific pictures of space—like those from the Hubble telescope—will go down as some of the most remarkable imagery of our time. But I have never seen anything more thrilling, or incomprehensible, as the image here. It shows a supernova—an exploding star—that was first glimpsed on earth some 436 years ago. Apparently, scientists have observed light from the supernova that was delayed on its trip to earth

  • Astronomers Glimpse Ancient Supernova Explosion Anew

A supernova explosion first seen from Earth 436 years ago has come back to life for astronomers in a time-travel-like astronomical twist. By observing light from supernova SN 1572 that was slowed on its trip to Earth by dust particles, scientists can watch the outburst now as it would have looked originally. When the explosion first appeared in the sky in 1572, Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe named it “Stella Nova” or “New Star” because it looked like an extremely bright star that hadn’t been t
