ROMA - La nuova battuta di Berlusconi, questa volta a riguardo del presidente eletto degli Stati Uniti Barack Obama, definito da Mosca "bello, giovane e abbronzato", ha provocato un'ennesimo scontro politico in Italia. L'opposizione, con in testa Walter Veltroni, ha invitato il presidente del Consiglio a chiedere scusa a Obama, ma governo e maggioranza hanno respinto le accuse, replicando con epiteti poco anglosassoni, come "imbecilli" o "tromboni". A Mosca per incontrare il presidente Medvedev, Berlusconi ha fatto dichiarazioni impegnative per la politica estera italiana, affermando che l'Italia e la Russia sono "concordi nelle valutazioni" dei problemi internazionali, a partire dalla crisi nel Caucaso e nella Georgia. Ma tutto ciò è stato spazzato via dal dibattito politico dalle successive parole del premier su quello che sarà il nuovo inquilino della Casa Bianca: "Obama ha tutto, è giovane, è bello e anche abbronzato".Queste parole sono immediatamente rimbalzate da Mosca a Roma (e in mezzo mondo attraverso il web) e nell'aula della Camera Pierluigi Castagnetti ha espresso "indignazione", mentre Fabio Evangelisti (Idv) ha auspicato un "richiamo istituzionale" nei riguardi del presidente del Consiglio. E' seguita una bordata di dichiarazioni contro le parole "infelici e grevi" (Massimo Donadi di Idv) del premier, che è stato invitato da Dario Franceschini a chiedere scusa. "Berlusconi regala all'Italia l'ennesima figuraccia", ha detto Sandra Zampa, che fu collaboratrice di Romano Prodi a Palazzo Chigi. Il professor Jean Leonard Touadi, parlamentare di origini congolesi del Pd, ha definito "imbarazzanti" le espressioni del Cavaliere. Veltroni ha stigmatizzato le dichiarazioni del Cavaliere, che "colpiscono gravemente l'immagine e la dignità del nostro Paese sulla scena internazionale e rischiano di provocare una incrinatura nei rapporti di amicizia" con gli Usa. Di qui l'auspicio che ad Obama "vengano al più presto rivolte scuse ufficiali".Secca la replica di Paolo Bonaiuti, che ha parlato di "colpo di trombone" di Veltroni e "dell'esercito dei moralisti della sinistra", capace solo di "cavalcare ogni frase di Berlusconi". Incredulo, invece, Berlusconi per le critiche a quella che ha definito una "carineria" verso Obama. E visto che gli esponenti dell'opposizione non l'hanno capito, il premier ha attaccato: "Se scendono in campo gli imbecilli, siamo fregati...". Il che non ha certo chetato le acque. Il vice capogruppo del Pdl al Senato Francesco Casoli ha rincarato la dose: "La madre degli imbecilli della sinistra è sempre incinta"; e il suo collega Lucio Malan ha attaccato "i bigotti del politicamente corretto". "Imbecille - ha risposto Evangelisti di Idv - è chi non capisce la gravità delle proprie affermazioni e, inconsapevole del proprio ruolo, parla del presidente degli Stati Uniti come fosse un ragazzino venuto a giocare nel Milan".Il pomeriggio è trascorso con il fuoco incrociato delle artiglierie che si sono scambiate accuse, a partire dal Pd che ha invitato il sottosegretario Bonaiuti a guardare i siti internet dell'informazione internazionale per capire la gravità della battuta del premier. Il ministro Gianfranco Rotondi ha cercato di smussare i toni spiegando che la battuta sull'abbronzatura non è indice di razzismo, anzi: "C'é una teoria psicologica per cui il fondamento del razzismo è l'invidia dei bianchi per un colore più gradevole". Sconsolata Anna Finocchiaro: "Pretendere che Berlusconi chieda scusa per le parole usate nei confronti di Obama è tempo perso". "Non si rende conto di quello che dice", chiosa Castagnetti.
